CHERRY MOBILE D12TV REVIEW

Ever tried using Cherry Mobile Phones? Recently I bought a Cherry Mobile D12TV as a gift for my dad this Christmas. My dad is already old and he's not that techie so I just bought a phone that fits his needs.

APPERANCE AND WEIGHT



The unit looks like a typical bar phone for me. And it's very light for it's dimensions. It only weighs 70 grams which is a plus since you don't want to hold or carry a heavy phone in your hands or in your pocket. The phone also comes in different colors that suits your lifestyle.

LCD DISPLAY AND KEYPAD



This phone features a 2.2" QCF LCD display. The font size is also good enough for people with poor
vision just like my dad.They keypads are also sensitive, soft and very easy to touch.

SMS and MMS FEATURES

Just like other phones, you can write and send SMS or MMS messages here with ease. There are no delays with regards to typing text messages and it's very responsive.

ENTERTAINMENT

Mobile TV. One of the main reasons why I bought this phone is the Mobile TV feature. I'm used to brands like Nokia, Samsung and Sony Ericsson and this is the first time I used a phone that features a TV. The reception is nice, most of the channels are clear. Just adjust the antenna carefully to find a good signal and presto. This feature is very useful especially for TV addicts and Teleserye enthusiast who don't want to miss an episode of their favorite shows while on the go.

FM Radio. Just like other mobile phones, it also features an FM Radio so you can listen to music and your favorite radio stations.

MP3 Player. If you don't want to listen to the songs from the radio then this feature maybe useful to you. You just have to download your favorite songs and place it on your Micro SD card and you can listen to them anytime, anywhere at your convenience.

Web Browsing. Yes it offers a simple wap browser so you can access your social networking sites here.

VGA Camera. This phone has a VGA camera you can use for taking simple pictures and record videos. And since it's only .3 megapixels, we don't expect it to show good quality images. It's not that very useful during night time as well since it doesn't have a flash.

OTHER FEATURES. Aside from the features I mentioned earlier this phone also has a file browser, a world clock, an alarm, a calculator, an E-book reader for text files,a flash light and a loudspeaker. It also has a dual sim for network flexibility.

CONNECTIVITY

It offers bluetooth connectivity you can use to transfer files from other bluetooth enabled phones. It also has a USB port for charging or transfering files from your pc.

BATTERY LIFE

The phone has a good battery life. You can use the TV and MP3 player all day with this phone and up to 3 days if your just using it for texting.


THE VERDICT

I'm quite impressed with the Cherry Mobile D12TV and it's amazing features. For a very affordable price of only P999, you get a TV, an FM radio, MP3 player and so much more. Though this won't match an android smart phone and has no Wi-fi connectivity, the features itself are good enough for your kids and the elderly. I will also recommend this phone for people with e-loading business for it's dual sim feature that can save you money instead of buying another one. I find it very useful as well during calamities or disasters for it's flash light just in case of brownouts and a mobile TV to watch the latest news and updates. Just make sure that your battery is full before it happens. And guess what... My dad loves it. :)
